Bear Hunting Seasons - 2010

  • Maine Black Bear Hunting:

    Vast Highlands, Moosehead & Katahdin Region -
    Hunt Monday, August 30th (Arrive on the 29th) thru September 3rd;or hunt Monday, September 6th thru September 10th.


    West Branch Region -
    Hunt Monday, September 13th (Arrive on the 12th) thru September 17th; or hunt Monday, September 20th (Arrive on the 19th) thru September 24th.


  • Ontario Black Bear Hunting:

    Opens Monday, August 16th (Arrive on the 15th) - 3 Weeks

Bear Hunting Seasons - 2011

  • Maine Black Bear Hunting:

    Vast Highlands, Moosehead & Katahdin Region -
    Hunt Monday, August 29th (Arrive on the 28th) thru September 2nd;or hunt Monday, September 5th thru September 9th.


    West Branch Region -
    Hunt Monday, September 12th (Arrive on the 11th) thru September 16th; or hunt Monday, September 19th (Arrive on the 18th) thru September 23rd.


  • Ontario Black Bear Hunting:

    Opens Monday, August 15th (Arrive on the 14th) - 3 Weeks

Maine Grouse Hunting Season - 2010 Grouse & Woodcock

  • Guided Maine Grouse & Woodcock Hunting:

    Vast Highlands, Moosehead & Katahdin Region -
    Open October 1st  thru November 30th - 8 Weeks
    (Note: The woodcock season is set by the federal government just prior to each fall season - normally it runs from October 1 through November 1)

Maine Deer Hunting Season - 2010

Maine Moose Hunting Season - 2010

  • Guided Maine Moose Hunting:

    By permit drawing only (see below for zone selection).
    Area and Season depends on permit -
    Typically open in October - 1 or 2 Weeks


Maine Moose Hunting Zones

Foggy Mountain Guide Service utilizes five Wildlife Management Districts. When applying for a moose permit it is absolutely critical to use the following priority list. While Foggy Mountain uses only the first five districts, you must list 10 districts for your application to be valid. Please contact us if you have any questions.
