for us. It has been our livelihood for over thirty years.

Bear Hunting Seasons - 2012

Maine Black Bear Hunting:
Vast Highlands, Moosehead & Katahdin Region -
Hunt Monday, August 27th (Arrive on the 26th) thru August 31st; or
hunt Monday, September 3rd (Arrive on the 2nd) thru September 7th (Depart on Saturday, September 8th).
West Branch Region -
Hunt Monday, September
10th (Arrive on the
11th)
thru September 14th; or hunt Monday, September 17th (Arrive on the
16th) thru September 21st (Depart on Saturday, September 22nd).

Opens Monday, August 13th (Arrive on the 12th) -

hunt Monday, September 2nd (Arrive on the 1st) thru September 6th (Depart on Saturday, September 7th).
West Branch Region -
Hunt Monday, September
9th (Arrive on the
8th)
thru September 13th; or hunt Monday, September 16th (Arrive on the
15th) thru September 20th (Depart on Saturday, September 21st).

(Note: The woodcock season is set by the federal government just prior
to each fall season - normally it runs from October 1 through November

Mountain Guide Service utilizes five Wildlife Management
Districts. When applying for a moose permit it is absolutely
critical to use the following priority list. While Foggy
Mountain uses only the first five districts, you must
list 10 districts for your application to be valid. Please
