for us. It has been our livelihood for over thirty years.

Bear Hunting Seasons - 2013

Maine Black Bear Hunting:
Vast Highlands, Moosehead & Katahdin Region -
Hunt Monday, August 26th (Arrive on the 25th) thru August 30th; or
hunt Monday, September 2nd (Arrive on the 1st) thru September 6th (Depart on Saturday, September 7th).
West Branch Region -
Hunt Monday, September
9th (Arrive on the
8th)
thru September 13th; or hunt Monday, September 16th (Arrive on the
15th) thru September 20th (Depart on Saturday, September 21st).

Opens Monday, August 15th (Arrive on the 14th) -

Hunt Monday, August 25th (Arrive on the 24th) thru August 29th; or
hunt Monday, September 1st (Arrive on August 31st) thru September 5th (Depart on Saturday, September 6th).
West Branch Region -
Hunt Monday, September
8th (Arrive on the
7th)
thru September 12th; or hunt Monday, September 15th (Arrive on the
14th) thru September 19th (Depart on Saturday, September 20th).

(Note: The woodcock season is set by the federal government just prior
to each fall season - normally it runs from October 1 through November

Mountain Guide Service utilizes five Wildlife Management
Districts. When applying for a moose permit it is absolutely
critical to use the following priority list. While Foggy
Mountain uses only the first five districts, you must
list 10 districts for your application to be valid. Please
