Brook Trout Fishing in Maine "Wild Brook Trout Fishing . . .

. . . a West Branch Bear Hunt Bonus"

West Branch Bear Hunters take Note

Maine is famous for its wild brook trout fishing. In fact, Maine has 97% of the wild brook trout waters east of the Mississippi River!

Our West Branch bear hunts are based at a lodge that is located at the confluence of the North and South branches of the Penobscot River. These tributaries merge in front of our lodge to form the West Branch of the Penobscot River that then flows many miles to Millinocket and then on toward Bangor and the ocean. The river surrounds our lodge and is prime native brook trout habitat. There is no stocking, just wild native Maine brook trout. In September, the larger trout come up into these rivers from the lake on their annual spawning run. Their coloring is beautiful and 18"-22" trout are common.

Many Foggy Mountain hunters enjoy fantastic wild brook trout fishing each morning right at the lodge or in the many pristine streams nearby. Our guides will direct you to the local hot spots. Boats are not necessary, but many will find waders very helpful. From August 16 through September 30 - rivers, brooks, and streams are restricted to the use of artificial lures only and the total daily bag limit for brook trout is 1 fish. You may catch and release all you want.

The fishing is awesome, the wilderness is beautiful, and wildlife is abundant. Bring your rods and tackle.

There are no additional costs except for the Maine fishing license.
